Gilles Boetsch, chercheur au CNRS revient d'un voyage au Sénégal et parlera d'un projet majeur qui a attiré l'attention de la communauté internationale.
The Great Green Wall Project rassemble 11 pays africains qui ont décidé de construire une bande de végétation de 15 kilomètres autour de la frontière sud du désert du Sahara, afin de lutter contre la désertification et améliorer la qualité de vie des peuples de cette région.

In a world where bad news is all too frequent, it is inspiring to hear about a really good idea that makes sense in about every way you can possibly think of it and find that people are actually working on it. The Great Green Wall Project is such an idea: Eleven African countries agreed to create a 15-kilometer-wide band of vegetation spanning the southern border of the Sahara desert to fight desertification and improve the quality of life of the peoples of these regions.
