Gavin began learning piano at 5 years of age, and discovered rhythm and blues at age 13 when he heard a 78-rpm of Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson performing 'Boogie Woogie Man'. Gavin realised what his piano tutor was trying to teach him was not what he wanted to learn
A lifetime of Performing, T.V., touring and recording followed, with such names as - Kirsty MacColl, Dave Edmunds, Steve Cropper, Dion, Shakin' Stevens, Graham Parker, Kim Wilson, Cliff Richards, Al Green, Joe Cocker, Duane Eddy, Cyndi Lauper, Natalie Cole, Gwen Guthrie, Albert Lee & Hogan's Heroes, Van Morrison, Ruby Turner, Mike Berry, Nona Hendrix, Ruby Turner, Meatloaf, Alison Moyet, The Inmates, Tracy Ullman, Finbar Fury, Delores Keane, Honor Heffernan, Wanda Jackson - Plus many other mortals.
He has also written songs for many artists such as Kirsty MacColl, Shakin' Stevens, Delores Keane, Flaco Jiminez, Texas Tornados and Hogan's Heroes and had a n°1 in Scandinavia with a song entitled "Did I Tell You" by Jerry Williams.
Gavin now has realised a long-time ambition of playing his own songs with his own band.
