Boulou Ferré est issu d'une dynastie d'exception. Fils de Matlo Ferré et neveu de Sarane et de Baro Ferré qui s'illustrèrent aux côtés et en marge de Django Reinhardt. Au-delà du répertoire manouche dont il fut avec Raphael Fays l'artisan du renouveau, Boulou Ferré apporte au jazz la richesse de ses expériences variées et le fruit de ses rencontres incessantes.
