très beau spectacle, un peu de retard mais cela en valait la peine, débauche de couleurs, de saris, de robes, de voiles.... l'Inde est le seul pays où les hommes dansent avec des tuniques roses et j'ai bien aimé ça !!

I recently had the pleasure of seeing Devdas at the gorgeous Rex Theater in Paris, and wow, what a show! Honestly, it was a visual feast. From the very first moment, the colorful costumes and stunning set design grabbed my attention. The backdrop was a giant array of LED screens that changed instantly—one moment you're in a grand palace, the next, a beautiful village scene. And it wasn't just static images. The LED screens even had animation, which made the transitions smooth and seamless. You could tell a lot of thought went into the technology and how it enhanced the story. And the dancing? Absolutely phenomenal. Every movement was sharp and full of energy. The choreography was tight, synchronized, and beautifully executed. There were moments where the actors and dancers moved together in such perfect harmony that it was hard to take your eyes off the stage. I also loved how they used foreground screens. Those were a clever touch, creating layers of depth. The lighting was also perfectly done. I was worried it might clash with the huge LED setup, but no—it was all balanced beautifully. The actors' faces were lit just right without the lights getting lost in the brightness of the screens. It felt like the technology was working with them, not against them. Now, if I'm being honest, the music and sound were a bit loud at times, to the point where it got a little muddied, and the reverberations made it tough to fully understand everything being said or sung. That being said, I came prepared—thankfully, I had a set of foam earplugs in my pocket. Once I popped those in, the sound was much more manageable, and the clarity of the dialogue and lyrics came through. Pro tip: definitely bring some earplugs if you're going. I recommend a 31db pair to strike the perfect balance. The performances were top-notch. All the singing was clearly lip-synched, but I swear, it was so well done, it almost felt like they were singing live. The actors really sold it. You could see the emotion on their faces, hear the sincerity in their voices, and feel the connection they had with the story, even though it wasn't "live" singing. It all looked so natural, I forgot for a moment that it was pre-recorded. In terms of the overall experience, I was just swept away. The colors, the energy, the music—everything came together in this beautiful harmony. The show captured the essence of Devdas perfectly, blending traditional elements with modern technology to create something that felt both timeless and fresh. I can't recommend this show enough. If you're into musical theater, you need to see this. It's a real treat for the eyes, ears, and heart. Just don't forget to bring those earplugs along—trust me, it'll make the experience that much better.

Ce spectacle m'a replongée dans cette histoire bouleversante, dans cette richesse de la culture indienne, les couleurs, les chants, les danses... tout était là. Wow. This was probably the most spectacular show I have ever seen. It's like an extravaganza of color, sound, movement. All your senses are at maximum stimulation, it's like the best dream you've ever had. And the story is so inspiring. Most of it in English with French sub-titles, so nice. I hope the troop comes back to Paris next year!
